Is diabetes type II curable now?

There is a sort of rumour spreading that an injection has been invented which can cure it completely.

there is no cure for diabetes II you may be able to control it with weight loss or diet but diabetes II is what you develop when you are older and there really is no cure. You may not need medication if you control it with diet and exercise.

I've heard actual medical doctors on tv here say: IF the person is borderline or has a very slight case, eating the right foods and following a regimen that only doctors can watch can make it subside. These cases are rare.

That is why it is called rumour
If you want u can keep it under control well

As the previous posted told food contol is one

second making food medicine - ie called naturopathy

Next using herbal medicine

Other is using other systems of medicine - like homoeopathy and Ayurveda

there is no cure for diabetes type 2 as yet but one can manage it by diet, exercise, having ideal body weight and medicines if needed. do not believe in rumours or in magic remedies.

As a general rule, no diabetes is not curable but treatable. I have heard that people that have lost 100 pounds from gastric bypass surgery. That is the exception not the rule.

Type 2 it not curable but it is very treatable by following a good diet, getting exercise and taking the meds your doctor prescribes. Unfortunately for some of us (like me) even that does not work and we need to use insulin. Research is being done every day to find a cure for diabetes, but as of yet there is none.

It is not curable but manageable with diet and exercise.

Diabetes Type 2 is NOT curable, but it is controllable. In many patients, diabetes is related to their weight, so if they lose enough weight then the diabetes may be controlled without the need for medication. This is probably when someone thinks their diabetes has been "cured" but in truth the diabetes is still there, it's just under control.

not at this point. You can keep in control with proper diet and medications, but at this point there is no such thing as a cure.

There are two types of diabetes;

Type 1 Diabetes - aka Juvenile Onset

T1 diabetes is diagnosed to children, young adolescents, and in rare cases adults. Hence it's name, Juvenile Onset Diabetes, or Juvenile diabetes for short.

In a T1 diabetic, the immune system attacks the pancreatic cells that produce insulin - thus "killing" that function of the pancreas completely. Therefore a T1 diabetic must always take insulin and can never go off of insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes - aka Adult Onset

T2 diabetes is most commonly diagnosed to adults and the elderly, however it can be dianosed in children. It is also very commonly diagnosed to those individuals who are overweight, and/or have a strong history of T2 diabetes in their family.

In a T2 diabetic, their pancreas still produces insulin, however their pancreas does not produce enough to support their body weight. Or due to hereditary reasons, the pancreas is prone to petering out it's insulin efficiency. Or T2 diabetes can also be diagnosed when someone has developed a resistance to the insulin that their body produces.

A T2 diabetic, in some cases can "cure" their diabetes through dieting and exercise. If they can maintain a healthy weight, in a lot of cases their pancreas function returns to "normal" levels.

A Type 2 diabetic can be treated with certain medications given orally, such as diamicron, metformin. And in some severe cases, they do need to take insulin injections.

Type II diabetes is not as bad as type I. If you just keep your blood sugar under control with proper diet and exercise, you can get completely off medication.
