A family of 7 just moved next door to me, Try this link. There are alot of recipes and advice. Just stay away from sugars and treats as much as possible. High fiber and low calorie is best. There are MANY diet books on recipes and things diabetics can eat, and most meals can be made with lower risk to diabetics. Do a search for diabetic recipes and you will find a great deal of information. It is like being on any diet. Portions should not be too big. Pasta, potatoes, rice, bread should be very limited because they turn to sugar in the body. Cake, cookies, chocolate, candy of any sort should be very limited. Potato chips, pretzels, popcorn, same thing - very limited. High fiber, low fat, low sugar foods, almost exclusively. |
