Diabetes Type 1 - know of any child friendly websites? |
A friend's child has just been diagnosed as having Type 1 Diabetes - are there any child friendly websites out there that you can recommend? Thanks everybody, that's a really good link! Hi there. Check out the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) website at http://www.jdrf.org and also http://www.childrenwithdiabes.com http://www.kidshealth.org/Search01.jsp kidshealth is good but i would reccommend you being referred to a diabetes team who will not only monitor the child but will give you good acurate up to date advice and they will put your friends mind at ease! The internet can be a little dodgy!!! Good site. Don't forget books too! Fifty-50.com and Amazon has books for varying ages on diabetes. If your child is a teen, websites might be the way to go, but for all kids, and certainly little tykes, books are recommended. whish I could help you Delly but dont know any websites www.Joslin.org |
