Will type 1 diabetes be never cureable in future..?

My girlfriend is suffering from diabetes type 1 for 19 years. she is 22 now.She takes 2 shots daily. Now she is taking less amount of insulin. her doctor says that she may be improving. Is there any possibility to grow up Beta Cell in her pancreus.? is there anybody in this world who got cured surprisingly from this disesase....?

She will be able to get rid of the diabetes with these exercises.Thank you for looking after her and searching for answers.
These pranayam exercises will help control the diabetes and the side effects.Build up the timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later. The benefits will be noticed in weeks as the sugar level is checked daily.Over the long tern the diabetes will be in full control and the medicine can be reduced in consultation with the doctor.
Anulom Vilom 鈥?
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then 鈥?close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Also everyday press the centre point of the palm of your hand 40 times with the thumb and press the tips of all fingers 40 times each.

Sometimes in diabetes you can go through a honeymoon period where you no longer have to take insulin but this only lasts a few months and doctors are unsure as to why this occurs.

Regarding a cure many universities in the UK such as Cambridge, Newcastle, & Kings are experimenting with stem cells and the team at Newcastle has had a lot of success. Currently there is no permanant cure available but the study's so far look promising.

A diabetics need for insulin changes. I take way less now than I did in my teens, and early 20's. (I am now in my mid 30's)
I wish that I could say that people can be surprisingly cured. It would give us all hope.
In Canada, they have the Clinical Islet Transplant Program, which is a "cure" for type 1 diabetes, but it is still being worked on. They take new applicants on an ongoing basis, and it removes the need for patients to take insulin, but it does not seem to last forever.
Here is a link: http://www.islet.med.ualberta.ca/cand.ht...
There are other programs going on all over the world, with hopes of curing diabetes.

I have heard about pancreatic transplants working for Type 1 diabetes. You need to look into that - but I'm not sure about insurance covering it.

Insulin requirements generally decrease as we escape our teen years when metabolism is highest, so its not suprising that at 22 she requires less insulin. Doubtful that she has any Beta Cells left or any new ones - as antibodies to these cells have most likely wiped them all out, as it happens for all diabetics. A beta cell transplant is in the works at Univ of Chicago, they transplant working Beta cells into the liver. Problem is that the patient has to receive lots of Steroids for life to counteract the bodies immune response to the new Beta cells - steroids are not fun.
I do believe that a cure will occur in the next 20 years. It will involve stem cells and genetic manipulation of the receptors on the beta cells, but when they perfect this, it will be like wiping small pox from the planet!
Until then, I would suggest looking into an insulin pump with minimed or animas or one of the other companies - pumps are proven to provide tighter control of blood sugars.
