Is there a cure for diabetes type 3? |
how long can you be expected to live having diabetes type 3, if there is no cure? As there is no cure for types 1 and 2, it's unlikely that there will be for type 3 either for some time. This is aka gestational diabetes mellitus, and usually goes away after the baby is born. If not it's usually reclassified as Type II diabetes. HELLO: Where have I been lately, pardon me but for years now I have only know about 2 types of Diabetes. according to NHS direct there are only 2 types of diabetes type one your body does not produce insulin and is controlled by injections, type 2 your body does not produce enough insulin and can be controlled by taking tablets. the medical world are coming on in leaps an bounds for cures for diabetes,if you smoke or drink a lot you will take a good ten years off your life,if you eat and drink properly you can live a normal life span, but never buy what is called diabetic foods of any kind, they,re a money maker,do as your asked to do and you,ll be fine. is that the diabetes you get when pregnant your refering to? other than that can you explain to me what this is coz im sure you can only get diabetes type 1 and 2 Diabetes of any type in itself is not a death sentence. The main consideration is that the body does not produce any/or inadequately produces insulin to convert food into energy , therefore good management is the answer join a support group there are many on the internet but remember you know your body best and a diabetes nurse should be your mentor in dealing with treatment , what works for someone else may not work for you it is trial and error and if injected insulin is involved then never go on anything but proffessional advice. Do you mean gestational diabetes or what I'd call type 3 but the above all seem to disagree, which is type 1 and type 2 (ie. type 1 with insulin resistance)? Anyway, either way there isn't a cure for any type of diabetes, although gestational diabetes goes away after the baby's born (but sometimes triggers type 1 or type 2 diabetes) - sorry I know that sucs! Diabetes is manageable though and if you're newly diagnosed it seems crazy at first but you will get used to it. Scary figures are often thrown around for life expectancy of people with diabetes, but the truth is we don't know - estimates can only be made based on previous people with diabetes, but treatment is a lot better now so it's not really right to expect the same prognosis as those who grew up on less good insulin and therefore less good diabetes control. Anyway, try not to worry and focus on being alive and well now! Believe me you can still enjoy your life despite diabetes! :) xxx Never heard of type 3 can somebody explain. |
