I think I may have Diabetes Type 1?

I read an article about Diabetes Type 1 and I have all the symptoms. I am a bit of a hydrochrondriac, so I dont know whether I'm just overreacting. But I've been having these symtoms for a long time now. About half a year to a year. I get really thirsty alot, but I'm always feel dehydrated. And I urinate 20 times or more in a day and I have problem holding my urine a lot of times. Weight loss, I wouldnt really know as my weight fluctuates a lot. My vision tends to black out or blurr out especially after I eat or am stressed out, but my optician said it was just protein build up in my eye. I sort of have genital wart and itching (which i just thought was herpes). So should I be worried? What happens if it goes untreated and for how long before you need to get it treated ? How do you test for it?

go to the doctor to get checked out. Best wishes!

I was having the black out vision and blurred vision and about 2 yrs ago found out I was Type 2 diabetic. You have to go to the doctor fasting and be tested. or you can buy one of those monitors from walmart and check it fasting. if you check it and it is high 3 or more times its better to go to the doctor and get on meds. Diabetes can harm kidneys and other things. I was having trouble with mine being up to 500 and 600 and nothing was dropping it and now it is staying pretty leveled out around 112 to 140 which is still kind of high but my doctor said for me that is ok.. watch your carbs and sugar intakes and stay away from starches and sugars as much as possible.

if you have had these symptoms for 6 months to a year then you'd probably be dead if it was type 1 diabetes because your blood sugar would be so high. your usually diagnosed within the first couple months of noticing the first few symptoms...so the symptoms come on fast with type 1. for type 2 though the symptoms come a bit slower..you could go years without knowing u have type 2. with unexplained weight loss for an undiagnosed type 1..the weight stays off...and keeps dropping until your blood sugars come down....to me it sounds more like type 2...when you go untreated theres a big chance that other organs are going to be affected (kidneys) and the test is just a simple blood test.

Eat less sugar especially soda.

You have the classic symptoms of diabetes, a simple blood test will reveal the truth, don't delay.
