Working out with type 1 diabetes?

Working out with type 1 diabetes?
Is it true that it is harder to gain muscle and burn fat with type 1 diabetes? Is it possible to get abs with a similar amount of effort as average people, or is a more "extreme" diet needed?
--> I am not having trouble with my weight (170lb, 18 yrs old), have good glucose control, and am on a regular exercise program.
--> A family friend who owns a healthfood store said I would need to adjust my diet more drastically than an average person to develop muscle tone with type 1 diabetes.

I am on humulog and glargine.

my friend has type one diabetes and he works out with a normal program and he has abs and he doesnt work harder working out then any of the other guys he works out with so i would have to say no its not harder

hope i helped :]

As long as you keep your diabetes under control you can exercise like anybody else. Don't listen to what people say, in efforts for you to buy what they sell.
Just get used to checking BS before and after exercise so you'll learn how your own body reacts to it.

I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her (100% natural). I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. Check their website at
http://thin-weight-loss.us , my aunt got a free trial and paid only $4.95 shipping and handling.
