Insulin Type 2 Diabetes?

Why does some people with type 2 Diabetes need insulin when others don't need insulin? I have type 2 Diabetes.

People who have type 2 diabetes and find after a time they need to take insulin are just suffering from the pancreas stopping or slowing insulin production. In type 1 the pancreas stops producing insulin all at once- but in type 2 it can occur gradually. In some it does not stop.

Hello.
Some type 2 diabetics do not produce enough of there own insulin, and therefore require an injection because tablets aren't an option (usually due to your lifestyle , eating to much, not enough exercise etc etc)

However you will still be producing some insulin on your own. It will be that you arnt producing enough and cannot take enough insulin tablets to cover your type of lifestyle, therefore having injections is the only viable option.

Even this is much better than being a type 1 diabetic (not producing any insulin), like myself being a type one diabetic is much severer, so on a personal note mate, ID count yourself lucky and don't let the fact that you require injections get you down.

your doctor should have made that quite clear to you mate, id consider consulting somebody else if you didn't understand or weren't told the full details of your condition

Correct me if I'm wrong but Type 2 diabetes is nit that you don't produce insulin it's that fact your body has built a resistance to insulin?

I have a type 2 diabetes. But because my blood sugar is continually high I was just recently told by my diabetes specialist that I need to switch to insulin because the oral medication is not able to control my high blood sugar. However, a friend of mine who has been diabetic longer than I have, only have to take the oral medicine and never once had needed insulin.
