My 4 year old was diagnosed with tinea capitits and corposis ?fungal infection she has red pink round flat? |
spots all over her body se is taking griseofulvin everyday for like now 6 weeks and the spots all over her body are crusting up she also had really bad dry flaking scalp that is going away but now she lost color in her skin she is a light olive brown tone skin color and she has white spots now all over her back face etc... she still has big pink crusty round spots on her arms and legs what can i do ? Please see the web pages for more details on Tinea Corporis. She may have yet another fungal skin infection called tinia versicolor. You may notice this on the back and shoulders. There are lighter areas or skin that are somewhat spherical. They itch, usually after a warm shower or from warm/hot weather. Dandruff shampoo applied and left in place for ten minutes then rinsed can sometimes do the trick. It should be done at least twice daily. Gentian violet has also been used to treat fungal skin infections, but most people don't like to go around being purple. However, your doctor would be the best person to ask. Try getting in to see a dermatologist. |
