My brother is complaining of a weird senstation in his throat.?

When he breaths in, it makes him have a sensation like he is breathing in vicks vapor fumes. Like a really cold sensation. Is this normal? He has a panic disorder so I am thinking he is just focusing too much on the feeling of it and its worrying him.

not really an answer but is there a chance he's put something in his nose, like vicks vapor rub?? if he's done this, he needs to see a doctor asap because it can cause respiratory problems if ingested.
