Panic attacks and disorders....? |
has anyone had a panic attack where they felt like their throat was closing up and that they didnt know what was going on? yes, I've had panic attacks ! i know they are very scary, you think you're going to die.... not a good feeling. i've been on zoloft for about 10 yrs. now and haven't had an attack since! please write back if you need more info,,.. yep, breathe into a paper bag, nose and mouth covered by bag Is this happening to you? I have experienced this too many times, and boy is it scary and overwhelming. Yes, these are so bad. Just try and breath slow and easy. I try to picture positive things in my mind. i have anxioty attacks, they suck especially 2 weeks straigt, i just had an ekg done on my heart. but my pains are in the center of the chest and it feels like bing shocked when there are bad. i would recomend seeing your doctor, if they have been going on for a while yeah, I have, only one. you have to tell yourself that you can get through it. Just think that it's all in your head. Relax and everything will be ok, good luck SEEMS LIKE WE HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME. JUST TRY TO BLOCK WHAT IS BOTHERING YOU OUT AND THINK OF OTHER BETTER THOUGHTS. TAKE *SLOW* DEEP BREATHS. YOUR THROAT ISN'T REALLY CLOSING UP, IT JUST FEELS LIKE IT IS BECAUSE YOU AREN'T PACING YOURSELF. I used to have panic attacks yrs ago although, at the time I didn't know what was going on. Luckily a lady I spoke with told me what it was and how to relieve it.When I had mine, my heart began to race and beat erratically and my fingertips would sweat then they kinda would feel numb. Anyways she told me to try and relax...put my mind at ease and listen to some soft music...get into fresh air and close your eyes.....so that's what I did and it worked....I don't get panic's anymore but when I did it got easier and easier to control.....good luck...:) Yes. More than once. Very scary!! :-S Yes I have had on where I felt like I could not breathe. Panic attacks are not a diagnosis. Panic disorder consists of having panic attacks and having the fear of having another panic attack. This can increase paranoia, isolation and depression. Go to a mental health professional who can diagnose you properly and get you started on medications. I have learned that it is just a feeling.... |
