Has Valium helped anyone get rid of the feeling of a lump in their throat?

My doc wants to prescribe Valium for me. I have had a feeling of a lump in my throat along with nausea for the past 3 years. I have generalized anxiety disorder and crohn's disease. will valium help me? has it helped anyone with this?
