Does she have an eating disorder?

My friend has been getting ill for the past year now, and i wonder if she has an eating disorder. She doesn't eat breakfast or lunch, then eats like a horse at night because she's so hungry. She frequently gets throat infections, pain where her kidneys are, headaches, vomits, feels cold when temperature is normal, and keeps asking me if her eyes look strange?:s anyway she has been ok, but ever since we started back at school, she's been off consistently. She keeps visiting the doctor's but they never diagnose anything apart from throat infections. I could be completely wrong about why she's ill, but i can't understand if she has all these things wrong, why do the doctors never diagnose anything?Perhaps she's a hypochondriac, but i'm worried and don't know what to do in case my suspicions are right. She denies having an eating problem though, and seems like she's being truthful...

nothing there tells me anything about an eating disorder. IS she super crazy about watching what she eats? Does she disapear into the bathroom after eating? Is she overly critical of her body? Seems to me this is more a medical disorder than eating disorder.

Why don't you take her to a homeopathic specialist? Doctors are all about prescription drugs these days. Maybe look at a more holistic approach to whatever is ailing her. Just an idea.

You should talk to her about all of this. It doesn't sound like she is doing all right either way. Skipping breakfast and lunch is horrible for her, especially when she is trying to learn in school. Let her know you care about her and your concerned. If she feels she needs to lose weight she needs to do it in a healthy manner and skipping meals NEVER works for long term permanent weight loss.
Also you should talk to a trusted counsler for help and signs to look for.

She doesn't eat then she binges at night? Perhaps she's bulimic? Either way she's not eating healthy. Food gives your body energy to burn and not eating until late at night is very unhealthy.
Sounds like bulimia to me but then again I'm no expert in that field

shes been with the wrong man or women

She could be bulemic. The throat infections could be caused by repeated vomiting (you've mentioned the vomiting, is it self-induced?) When someone's not eating, they can't generate the heat their body needs because they've not got the energy to spare from keeping her body going. However, the fact that she's asking if her eyes look strange makes me think she may be using some hard drugs. Someone's pupils will get very big when they're on drugs, and they will deplete the white blood cells in the bloodstream, making the immune system less effective and thus more prone to infection. Maybe she's eating less because the drugs she's using kill her appetite.

It doesn't sound like she has a typical eating disorder. personally, I think she needs to see a specialist. She may have something wrong with her adrenal glands, or thyroid, or perhaps a tumor somewhere...maybe a kidney or liver disorder, or even cancer. She needs to keep at the doctors until she finds on that is willing to spend the time to figure out what is going on. Usually people with eating disorders, who have not come to terms with this fact, will not go to doctors about their problem. Either way, it sounds serious, support her in efforts to not give up on herself!

in all honesty, sounds like bulimia. cold all the time because of lack of energy, kidney infections due to dehydration from throwing up those overly large evening meals (hense the sore throat)
