Throat Cancer.... hmm?

i've been looking around here about throat cancer, but none really seem to answer my question.. i first started smoking when i was 18, i really dont have a good enough reason why i did, i'm 19 now.. and the past couple days i've been having this feeling where something is stuck in my throat.. at first i thought it was a chicken bone because i had KFC the other night and i swallowed a little piece of chicken bone.. so i tried hocking it up, throwing up.. etc.. nothing seemed to work.. so 2-3 days pass and i still have this feeling where something is stuck in my throat i looked at some websites about throat cancer, and the only symptom that i catched was the "feeling something is stuck in your throat" i recently had tonsilitis and i checked my mouth and i noticed white stuff was over my tonsils again so i thought to myself maybe its tonsilitis again.. but i don't know i'm just worried it might be cancer, and i dont wanna go to a dr. because i just dont lol so could anyone help me out?

The chances that this is cancer are very very low. Most people who develop throat cancers have a long history of smoking (and often times drinking as well) Head and neck cancers are most common among men in their 50's and 60's. I am a radiation therapist and I treat people with all types of cancers.

you most likely have an infection/tonsilitis. You should have that checked out and possibly a tonsilectomy if your symptoms keep recurring. I really wouldn't worry that this is cancer. But if you keep smoking you could likely develop a cancer when you are older. You are 6x more likely to get a head & neck cancer than a non-smoker. You should try to quit while you are still relatively new to the habit. i know its not easy(i used to smoke) but quitting is the BEST prevention against getting cancer.

Good grief.

You have a history of tonsillitis.....and you have the "white stuff" on your tonsils again and you think it's CANCER instead of what it really is.......you have tonsillitis.

well, by the symptoms im guessing its throat cancer. if i were you i would go to the doctor or hospital to get that cured. the sooner the better

sweetie the doctor is not going to kill you. he will make the white stuff go away and get the "feeling of something stuck in your throat" to go away. don't say "because i just don't lol". if it's cancer, then what? keep avoiding the doctor, because clearly you're getting better, right?

well im pretty sure it's not cancer...if you only been smoking for a year then it's a very very low possiblity...i've been smoking for 2 years and i have not had cancer (i quite though) it's more likly you will get cancer down the road...i'd say stop smoking or cut back becuase thats probibly irritating it more...and you need to go to the doctor, have somone go with you..your probibly have tonsilitis again...you need to get it checked out, you'll feel better i promise (=

Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer researcher came out with a paper saying that the best cancer and infection fighter as yet found was Interferon, but, at the time, it cost $15,000 a gram. The good part was that Interferon was a product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your system. Shortly after that paper came out the FDA tried to make Vit C by prescription only. Guess why? The FDA says that the RDA for Vit C is 64 mg a day, just enough to prevent scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vit C and a second Nobel Prize for organic chemistry, said 1000 mg a day as a minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick. On a personal note, I was sick twice a year, for 2 weeks at a time, for 20 years, and was flat on my back for at least a week each time. To this day the doctors have no idea what the problem was. After I gave up on the doctors I tried Vit C. I took enough to keep from being sick and just below too much to get diarrhea. It followed a bell curve over 2 weeks with a peak at 40,000 mg a day 鈥?about 300,000 over the 2 weeks. I was not sick for those 2 weeks and after a couple of years of that I have not been sick since. I did not dissolve my kidneys, as some doctors said would happen. I did not get any calcium build up or stones and did not dissolve my cones or solidify my joints. Try it, but drink a lot of water 鈥?Vit C is a natural diuretic.
