I think I may have developed throat cancer? |
Over a year ago, I had a bad tonsil infection that swelled up my tonsils and kept them that way for almost a year and a half now. I went to several doctors, all telling me it wasnt throat cancer simply because I was too young, denying me any tests that would relieve my mind of believing it was cancer. I han numerous tests done, and I guess in the end they said it was caused by mono. Only thing is, I was surfing the net today and discovered one cause of throat cancer is the HPV virus transmitted through oral sex. When my intial tonsil infection started I had rectnly engaged in oral sex with a friend of mine, who I know carried the HPV virus and this was confirmed in my blooed test. She also told me a few months after all this happened that she might have cervical cancer, this didnt click at all in my head and didnt really relate it anyhow to my infection, I just sort of fell sorry for having to hear that she might have it. What should I do, I dont believe my doctos will take a biopsy. Because 2 different specialists denied that, what can I do to get tis test done if these doctors are being ignorant in believing I could have throat cancer simply because I am too you, It has happened before to other people just as young as me. I know they want to save money, but damn, this is my life we're talking about here and I've had all the sympotms for throat cancer and have stressed this over and over to them. What do I do? The problem you having might be just a recurrent tonsilitis, but anyway you can go to a ENT doctor and let them know your problem, i'm sure they are willing to help you but you must tell them the whole story which you are telling now in the net.... Good Luck... Seek medical advice now Go see another ear nose and throat specialist and tell them that you have reason to believe you might have throat cancer based on the symptoms you have and you would feel a lot better if they did a test on you to make sure you dont. Any doctor will do the test on you if you really want it done, of course at your expense. Just let them know you need it. |
