Please explain thoracic outlet syndrome due to cervical rib?

Cervical ribs extra ribs on the last cervical vertebral body. They can cause mass effect against the subclavian artery or vein or brachial plexus. This can lead to clots in the vessels and pain. TOS can also be caused by other congenital anomalies or trauma. True TOS can be fixed by surgery
