Do you have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)? |
I just found out that I was born with an extra rib (1 in 200 people are). My problem is it's around my collarbone and my muscles and blood vessels have wrapped around it and every time I lift my arm my blood flow is cut off. It is a very painful condition and I am scheduled for surgery to have the rib removed. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and what the recovery will be like. Thanks. Heres a link Hello, I have had thoracic outlet syndrome for 2 years now and it was mainly cuased from a car accident that I was in. I too was born with an extra rib and I have spent the last few months going to all kinds of doctors and stuff like that. I just got done doing physical therapy for a month and it didn't help my situation at all, but I am suprised your doctor didn't suggest that first. Or neurolegion. I am going to the doctor again next week to discuss this problem and figure out a solution. Although I have heard the operation is quite okay, I would still look into it though because there are things that can go wrong with it...as with every surgery. I am not trying to scare you I am in the same boat and I am not going to have that rib removed unless I have to. If you want more info I have a lot of other things I could share with you, just from my personal experience. |
