Now please tell me is there any treatment of this disease . please reply as soon as possible. we are from india and not a rich family. please ans this question as soon as possible. There are treatments, but unfortunately, they are probably pretty expensive. The sources below can explain it better than I can. Good luck, and I hope for the best for your son. The treatment for thalassemia major is going for regular blood tranfusion once every 3-5 weeks, every 2 days before blood tranfusion must go group and cross match, to check the suitable blood for your child, your child will grow normally after regular blood tranfusion, good luck be patience. Report It Bone marrow transplant can be done if you have another kid who is not affected or a carrier, provided that he/she has a blood which is compatible with your affected son. Other treatment like blood transfusion and deferroxamine or iron chelating agent are temporary measure and has to be given regularly. Unfortunately all are expensive. |
