Pregnancy tests and testicular cancer? |
I have heard rumors that if a man were to urinate on a pregnancy test and it showed up positive, that might mean that he has testicular cancer. I first saw this when I was watching 'ER'. A transgender man-to-woman was tested to see if she was pregnant and the test results showed positive. Then, it turns out she used to be a man. Another doctor said that this meant she had testicular cancer. Can someone please clear all of this up for me? I would appreciate serious answers. I am not sure if this works with a urine test. However the blood test for pregnancy is also tumor marker for Testicular cancer. So in the ER episode, the pre-op transgendered male becoming a female had a blood test done, which was positive and therefore indicative of testicular cancer. Not true |
