Question about testicular cancer? |
My husband just recently started complaining of his left testical hurting, and has noticed a little bit of swelling in it as well.. He is 28 years old and is a big guy who tends to wear boxers over briefs.. He has an appointment Monday with a urologist about the problem, but we are concerned that it may be caused by something other then him not wearing supportive underwear. He has this gut feeling that it is going to show testicular cancer. At his age could he really have this? I know we need to wait untill Monday to find out anything, but it really has me worried. Also he has noticed a lump on the side of the testical as well.. Does anyone know of anything it could be or should we expect to hear what we already think it is?? Sorry about the misunderstanding. He doesnt double up on under wear he chooses to wear boxers all the time, and never any briefs.. Yes there are other things it could be and the fact that it hurts is good. Please dont try to diagnose yet but just know that there are other possibilities. Good for him for getting the appointment! His age doesn't rule him out, but there are other conditions that can cause testicle pain. No need to jump to conclusions, your doctor will sort it out for you. Age doesn't really rule out much because they'res two sides to the problem... one how many 28 year olds do you see with a cardovascular problem... So they'res the other side saying he might have cancer because age isn't a problem there. I hope he doesn't have testicular cancer and good luck at the docter. Two bits of good news are (i) he's going to the doctor and (ii) testicular cancer doesn't usually "hurt". And the best news is that even if it is cancer, it's very treatable at 28 because it is not likely to have spread. It may well be a "hydrocele" or a "spermatocele", which are just pockets of either water or semen trapped inside the scrotum, usually the consequence of physical stress or injury. Has hubby been kicked in the nether regions? Or does he ride a lot of bicycle? Your husband is in the prime age to get testicular cancer. It does not hit old men usually. a lump on testes is almost always cancer.i had it 10 years ago.be carefulof uroligist mine first told me i had an infection and gave me 60 days of antibotics.by then it spread to lymph nodes.he is at prime age to get it i was 31.good news is its one of the most curable kinds of cancer if caught early.dont fool around it grows fast Testicular cancer tends to affect younger men rather than older. It is the most common in younger men. |
