If you had testicular cancer and made it, how you would make a blog to help young people avoid the same thing? |
I'm thinking of making a blog about how I surivived my bout with testicular cancer late last summer, I'm not sure what to talk about . Maybe how I ended up getting it in the first place, what events led up to the surgrey. the tests I took before hand, what happened on the day of the surgey, the aftermath on my life, the radiotion thearpy and maybe how it's changed my work and family life. Look on www.livestrong.com this is Lance Armstrongs cancer foundation, they LOVE to hear from cancer survivors...I think there is a place to blog on there...Lance went through testicular cancer as well, so that is something he hold near and dear...infact he said he would rather go down in text books as a cancer survivor than a 6 time tour de france winner... put the sites up and put them on your sites. cool idea man. Go to yahoo 360. click on my little pick here and you can check out mine if you want. If you knew how you got it, then tell others and if you survived it tell how you beat it on a blog for everyone. who knows by telling others, you may help them save lives by your experiences. First can I say bravo! BRAVO! The main thing is to keep it honest and open and help folks find the resources that they will need when dealing with similar issues. If you tag your blog well enough (key words that will be captured by the most obvious searches), you should do well. Allow people the chance to post comments or ask questions and solicit feedback from people who have undergone similar. You could certainly make money from ads, but that may "cheapen" the effect of your message. You could always solicit donations direct to the various organizations that you deem worthy and have links to on you site. But, if I recall, testicular cancer is one of the top-5 for men and there should definitely be interest in the subject matter! I think thats a great idea, A few years ago when not a lot of people survived cancer, My dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. Six years later and he is flying thank god |
