Tension headache triggering depression? Help!?

I received some bad news yesterday. My boss is laying off 15 employees and I'm one of them. The news was a shock and really upset me. I tried to shrug it off but couldn't. I ended up with a terrible tension headache and couldn't sleep last night. I've taken advil for the headache and it didn't help. I still have the tension headache, going on 17 hours. I feel very depressed. I went for an hour long walk and it didn't help. I don't want to be depressed and I need to rid myself of this headache. Anyone have advice? Thanks.

Stress can do that. You need to get rid of the source of the headache. That's not likely given your circumstances. Depression is sometimes blamed, when stress is what you are suffering from. For good reason.
Take some time for yourself and review your options for work. Get a game plan together. Start looking for jobs you'd LIKE and apply for those along with those you are qualified for. You never know.
Being positive and getting your feeling of helplessness dispersed will get rid of the headache, drink lots of water, keep forward thinking. Don't indulge in the 'but this was the planned way it was going to be' frame of mind.
Good luck hon, I hope things work out well for you, and I am sure they will.

try going to a natueral nature medicine shop an purchacing some pills called quiet life they should do it for you

How can you expect yourself to ignore losing your job? By pressuring yourself to ignore the lost job you are increasing your tension over and above the lost job.

Rather than running away from the lost job, face it. Allow yourself to get upset about losing the job and then start looking at what you can do about it.

Once you get to the point of doing something, like updating and submitting your resume to job sites, you will start to feel a bit better.

Take care,
Troy

It is always stressful to lose a job. Do not worry about the bad news instead think of it as a WELL deserved vacation! In fact, if you have any money saved up, take a small vacation....one day vacation....or a week vacation....or imagine you did if you dont have any saved up money. Use that positive thinking to help you boost your energy to look for another job.

Also, keep in touch with other workers that you know, family friends, etc... Sometimes they may know leads for jobs so you wont have to go hunting on your own.

First, I am not a religious zealot.
I also, had some pretty low moments and many friends suggested various things. Walking was one and it did provide some help.. Another friend who I never regarded as a spiritual person suggested waking early in the morning when the sun was coming up and while walking add some personalized prayer. Honestly, for me this was wonderful medicine. It was not a cure but it sure provided amazing results. I now look forward to my morning walk and meditation.
Hope it helps you as it did me.
