Does anyone else on here wake up in the morning with a tension headache? |
If so, what do you do to relieve it besides taking medication? I'm preganant with twins, so I don't want to risk harming them, however, I am suffering! These headaches seem to be getting worse, and worse. I've even gone to the ER over them, and that's when I got diagnosed with tension headache. Dr prescribed Lortab and sent me on my way. Please help me if you know a better way? I used to wake with tension headaches all the time, there were a couple of factors, one was stress, the other was my pillow... well the fact that I used too many, if your neck is in a weird position, you are more likely to end up waking with a headache. If they are caused by stress... try relaxation excercises, deep breathing, focussing on a calming scenario... Congratulations on the twins... best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy :) You know when I was pregnant my whole body ache especially when I wake up. maybe you should try a different type pillow. or the way you sleep. your body is going through so many changes. the blood circulation is different. I have to agree with Sassy here. They make pillows just for pregnant women now they are huge and will leave your husband with very little space in bed but hey you have to carry his children for 9 months he can deal with less bed. Also try sleeping in more of a sitting position. I am not pregnant but that always tends to help my headaches. Headaches - especially those that come during the night can be caused by various things. I am a headache sufferer. One thing that helped me was to get an air purifier in the room. Sometimes nighttime headaches are caused by allergy, not tension. I also use meditation to help relieve the stress (this would be excellent helping with the pregnancy also). I sometimes resort to a face mask type roll thingie which has lavender etc. in it and I can heat it in microwave and place on back of my neck or on my sinus areas (wherever the pain most resides at the time). Helps me relax and relieves the pain. When that doesn't work I use gel ice paks that I keep in freezer. |
