What is the best thing for a tension headache??

Im at work and I have tried 2 tylenols and and aspirin, my head is still killing me...Any ideas on tension headaches..My lower neck is aching and im gettin sick to my stomach..Theres no way to go home and lay down (which usually works)..PLEASE HELP!!

this may sound REALLY strange but try it, it does work. have someone massage the palm side of your hands near the base of the thumb, one at a time. Apply pressure and rub deep circles from the junction between the thumb and index finger down to the wrist (follow the curved line on your palm). If you can't find anyone to help, you can do it yourself.

excedrin

Sometimes, drinking some caffeine works for me even with tension headaches. I wouldn't recommend coffee if your stomach is upset, but a soda.

I used to get them alot.

NO caffine... NONE..

rub or massage the top of your head..

If you can, find a quiet place and lie down and use some biofeedback... take that time and breathe and concentrate on relaxing every muscle in your body.

I always took Motrin for my tension headaches. It was the only thing that helped.

Also, you might check with your dentist... do you have TMJ? Do you grind or clench your teeth? That does contribute to these.

I am sorry you are in pain.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or
neck. Headaches can becaused by minor problems like
eyestrain, lack of coffee or moreserious reasons like
head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis andmeningitis.
Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
