Tendinitis in shoulder???? |
i was diagnosed with tendinitis recently...i got my mri results yesterday but i am on vacation and cannot get to my doctor right now....before he got my results he put me on muscle relaxers and hydrocodone for the pain..(which bareky helps the pain).has anyone ever had tendinitis in the shoulder and how bad would you say your pain at it's worse was rate it 1-10....when mine is at it's worse i wouls say an easy 7-8 pain factor, this stuff hurts like hell..tell me about your experiences...and what i can expect for the future...thanx in advance I used to take the same types of medicine and they didn't work. Neurontin did work fantastically. It's primarily used to control seizures but those same users noticed pain relief in addition to seizure control. So now many doctors prescribe it for pain relief. I also found that stretching my arms above my head with my hands clasped while looking up and leaning a little back helped to stretch me out and decrease pain. Icing your shoulder every few hours will help too. Every situation is different but various stretching exercises have helped me. I was on Neurontin for two years. My pain is not very noticiable these days and I no longer take it. I had it for about a year and a half and then had it in the other shoulder/arm. You need to use Ibuprofen or naproxen in a prescription dose for the pain and not the hydocodone. The other meds have anti-inflammatory properties where as the vicodin doesn't. Switch you pain med immediately and use it at least 3 times a day. If you are unsure of how much a prescription dose would be ask someone or email me. You need to use ice on the affected area for 20 minutes 3 times a day. Once you get back the doc will probably refer you for physical therapy and they may consider a cortisone injection. Good Luck. |
