Wrist pain from tendinitis? |
I was diagnosed with tendinitis about 2 years ago. I thought that it had gone away. Then the other day when I was weight lifting i got a sharp pain in that wrist. It still hurts, it the tendinitis back. If so what do I do You may have irritated the tendonitis. Please place ice on the site, elevate it, and REST- Take an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprophen or aleve for the pain. Cut the lifting for a few days. There are good hand/wrist splints you can purchase if the pain doesn't go away for a few days. If this continues, I would suggest you go see the Physician. Start with Ibuprofen, which is available in any drug store over the counter. This is an anti-inflamatory - reverse the inflammation - stop the pain. If the ibuprofen doesn't work and/or you need to remain on the ibuprofen for more than a couple days, consult your doctor. It is most likely a flare up of the tendinitis. However, if standard therapy doesn't work, it could be something else. Your doctor can most accurately diagnose and treat the problem. |
