Wrist tendinitis? |
I was diagnosed with wrist tendinitis last week, and have been stuck in a wrist splint for the next week and a half. I'm on some pretty strong painkillers and have been heating and icing it, but my wrist still hurts a lot, and I have a very very high pain tolerance. I'm a violinist, too. I'm not playing currently, my poor wrist needs a break. DO NOT wrap your wrist in an ace bandage at night, it will cause swelling in your hand and fingers..tendonitis can take weeks to months to heal.It sounds like you may be fighting the splint..the object of the splint is to remind you to keep it rested..not to try and still do your normal activity..if you do this , it will make your symptoms worse. I'm a violin player, so I've had tendonitis a few times. I would try to rest it as much as possible. Don't do any unnecessary moving and pretty much wait it out. It'll get better. wrap your wrist in an ace bandage at night. Wear the splint during the day. They also have a full wrist splint that goes all the way down your arm. So, it is really hard to move your wrist. Go back to the doctor. If you don't get the splint fited to you right the longer you will have the problem. I am misserable i have the same thing plus it is in my thumbs. |
