What can the licensed retail industry do to help cut back on teenage binge drinking?

What? Teenage binge drinking is something that PARENTS have control over. Not the retail industry. Everyone wants to blame someone else for kids problems. Parents just don't want to take responsibility and then wonder why their kids are in jail, rehab (if lucky) or dead. Gee, how'd THAT happen?

If only they upheld the law - that would at least help!

Stop making alcopops for a start - they don't even taste alcoholic!

Stop selling alcoholic drinks to youngsters. It still happens despite threats of prosecution.

If by tennage you mean 13 year olds yes the problem lies with the parent and they should cut it down as they should know if their child is a regular drinker.

At around the 18 mark its just students having fun and they grow out of it

The laws in place pretty much have it covered. If they want to drink, they will always find a way around the law. The best you can do is check for valid I.D. and refuse to sell to anyone you reasonably believe is buying for a minor. If you sell to someone legal age and then see them give it to a known minor, call the police. They probably won't do anything, but you will have protected yourself from prosecution.
