What are the disadvantages of coffee?


i drink too much coffee...i'm a teenage girl...is it good or bad...how can i control?

on one hand it can restrict you arteries and may cause heart attack
but on the other hand it is good for depression
if you want to get off do it gradually or you ll get a bad head ache

It runs out.

It makes your pee smell funny.

It has been discovered that coffee contain anti-oxidants which are good for us. But then again, it makes it hard to sleep after drinking a cup or two, which is bad.

It stains your teeth--and it will get worse as the years of coffee drinking go on. Your breath smells. It's not good for your body to have a lot of caffeine. I have a friend who is addicted to coffee and cigarettes. She has stained teeth and gets major migrains if she misses a cup from her 2 plus pot average of coffee a day. I would say try not to drink it because you are so young...habits that form young are much harder to break and much more damaging. Try switching to tea that has some health benefits like green or black tea. Or alternate between coffee and tea.
If you just want to cut down you have to slowly ween yourself off of it. Like if you typically drink 5 cups a day cut one out the first few days or week...then cut one more out.. until you are down to where you want to be.

i love coffee too, but the sad part is
coffee robs your body of calcium as does foods like oatmeal. unfortunately the only way you can get back all that calcium is taking a calcium supplemental ( make sure it contains vitamin D and magnesium, for full absorption)

If u r free from mind then dont care 4 to 6 cups of coffe should not be harmful.............dont think too much.............feel free...........enjoy the life ..........each moment............

it is a diaretic that makes you pee alot, also it dehydrates you which will age you prematurely, in the morning drink juice high in vitamin C, and throughout the day drink water, the benefits are too many to list here, and at least 2 cups of milk a day is good for u, stay the hell away from coke& pepsi all caffine is not really good for u overall

Moderation in everything is always recommended. Fill up your kitchen cabinet with other healthy drinks instead of coffee, such as fruit juice or milk etc. Good luck!.

stains on your teeth..... bone density... excess of caffeine.....

if you use sugar, sugar produces insuline which produces a chemical which releases under your skin and produces fat cells....

Sugar also produces a gas that releases a chemical on your teeth that aids the caffeine in coffee to break down the enamal of your teeth......

Again, the caffeine in coffee will aid in the break down of your bone material causing an early form of osteoporosis.

Not to mention nervousness...... and just like hops, found in beer, will also, force you to use the restroom an aweful lot....

Caffeine is the number one draw back there...caffeine is actually an amphetamine like nicotine or crystal methadrine...except it is a milder form of speed than some or of those.....but because it is so widely accepted and actually cherished as a stimulant/relaxant it makes one wonder as to the complexities of this device...now no one will tell you that coffee is dangerous...but I used to drink it and I suppose I have one of those "if it feels good do it" personalities...which can be a good or bad thing...in any event...I had to stop drinking it because I drank so much of it everyday that I couldnt sleep well at night...we all walk our own road so not everyone will experience this yet it happened to me...so I guess the best thing I could say is be carefull...
