Are 'muffin tops' normal for the teen years?

Hi, I am 14 and at a good weight. My waist is fine, not too skinny, not too fat (about 27-28 inches). But, of course there is that dreaded 'muffin top' that hangs right before my pants.

When looking up how to get rid of them, I find answers like 'don't drink any soda' or 'exercise regularly and don't eat junk food' which I already do!

Now, I might have a bit of extra skin because I lost a lot of weight (I was overweight, I didn't just *think* I was fat), but I was thinking, is that extra fat normal during the teenage years. I know you gain wait during puberty, but is it suppose to go 'there' where the 'muffin top' is? Will my body change to not have so much extra fat in that *one* area when I am fully developed?

It's not only when I were pants, but when I am naked, which is what bothers me.

You can do a couple things to get rid of muffin tops...got to work your mid section like non other. That is a really common area to store fat thats why you see so many people with them. Also try jeans that are a size too big and then wash them to shrink them up a bit, when the jeans arnt tight around your waste the muffin top isnt as noticeable.

I feel your pain...

I think anyone that wear pants that are too tight will get a muffin top. Sometimes it might be becasue your hips require a smaller size than your waist. For example if you have a 27/28 in waist that should technically be a size 6/7, but if your butt is only 35 inches and you can fit into a size 2/3 then you might get a bit of a muffin top going on.
