Nutrition Question About Multivitamins?

I'm 16 years old and my mom bought me this bottle of multivitamins. They're called "Rainbow Light Teen Multivitamin"

(Here's a link: http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid... )

I know that some vitamins can harm your body if you take too much. I think vitamins A, D, E, and K can be toxic if taken over the limit. The suggested intake is 1 to 3 pills a day. But I'm scared because what if i damage my body taking the pills and eating a variety of foods everyday at the same time?

What do you suggest I should take?

Thanks a bunch cuz I don't know what to do!!

dont worry about overdosing.
content looks fine and usually (for adults) its one pill a day - thats why i would suggest taking 2 pills with breakfast and then one with midmorning snack. you should always take vitamins in morning so body can use them during the day.

Call a pharmacist. This is the perfect question for a pharmacist. They are SO smart, kind, and helpful. You will get the correct answer to your question. Good luck, hon. :)

You're right that too many of certain vitamins (and minerals) can damage your body. Too much Vitamin A in the form of retinol can damage your liver. D without adequate calcium causes toxicity. Too much K can make you more susceptible to bleeding, while no adverse effects have been seen in recent studies of vitamin E.

It is unlikely you'd harm yourself taking these vitamins, and, if you're worried, just cut down on the dose. I take a multivitamin, (one pill per serving,) and I cut the thing in half because I eat mostly healthy.

If you're really, really concerned, speak with a pharmacist, as someone suggested, or talk to a naturopath or your doctor.

Good luck!
