I'm noticing a trend here in the mental health section?

Adolescence everything is great, even if you do have a traumatizing event it won't effect you until you're a teen, teens are always depressed and angry. So I was reading results to my question, and some people told me that when your between 20 and 30 it rocks.I believe it cause theres a lot less boundaries,no one to tell you what to do,you can party all night and what not,and legally drink boose and have sex. Then some dude was talkin about when you get 30 plus, you can't do the things you used to do anymore. It's like a steady decline you get married and have to "settle down".Something I never wanna have to,then from 40+ things go even more downhill, the novelty of peoples marriages were off, most guys get a gut,and both sexes sexual libido declines, some women get fat during pregnancy and never lose the weight. And then it's all declining.
Sounds like to me that the appealing parts of life are adolescence and ages 20 to 30,and the rest is terrible.Anyone going to offer a counterpoint to this?

I'm almost forty. And, though I've had some concerns, it's a good time of my life, and I've been very happy. I now have a good marraige, good friends, and the best job I've ever had. I wasn't this happy in my twenties.
We're all individuals, and what we like and enjoy is going to be different for us all. If you're into partying, booze, and mindless sex, then your twenties are likely to be great. But there's a lot to be said for more grown-up relationships and experiences, too. I went through the teen stage, and I went through the party stage, and I don't miss either one. I'm happier with a stable marraige, the world's coolest job, and mature friends.
I suspect we all peak at different ages. I'm comfortable where I'm at, and I have high hopes that it'll all improve from here.

Well..i'm 21, just had a baby and weigh less than I did to start, so I didn't get fat. I'm married to a man twice my age, his sexual appetite definitely has not decreased. And my husband is still very sexy. Just a few points to prove that there is the exception to every rule.

Disagree.Depends what you personally want out of life.
I have had a terrific journey so far. You can be 30-40 and be having the time of your life.

It is us people who define that 20s is cool. i reckon the 30-4o timeslot is the best of all. You are in your element. You are working..have a family...some people stay single but still have a ball of a time. There is freedom but caution in the wind at that age group. I know of an aunt who will hit 60 in 2 years but she is so energetic and out there that it would put most of us to shame.

Well I'm 35 and tons of things changed for me and it wasn't for the better. I enjoyed being in my 20's. Care-free, not too many responsiblities, except for rent and my next meal. I am starting to think 30's suck! But mine is health reasons. I still live life to the fullest on the days I can.

Suicide is the first most common cause of death for people between the age of 18 and 25!!

I think adolescents and people of the ages 18-24 are often very insecure. Their lives and personalities change alot in these years. They still need to find their place in the world. They are uncertain of their studies and of their future carreers. They just move out of their parents house and have to learn to be dependent. They have alot more possibilities than people had in the past, but this implies that their is more pressure on them to accomplish things.
They have more liberty to choose, but not everyone can handle this liberty that well.

As people grow older, they usually find more peace within themselves and become more confident.

Not so.

"Now" is the best time of your life. The present moment is.

Future and past aren't real. They seem to be. They're not.

your kidding me rite? nothing affects you in adolesense?!?! EVERYTHING effects you! at this stage your forming the adult you will be for the rest of your life!
