Do mental hospitals do full strip searches on young teens? |
I was wondering if they do and if so, if Winnebago Mental Health Institute did. I was also wondering if Winnebago made patients take showers together. Was hospitalized in 2001 (i live in Indiana) when i got into the late teen word my things were searched then i was searched by a female nurse who asked me to take shoes and socks then worked up my body. I had to turn my pants pockets inside out then lower my underwear and pants and shake them then same for my shirt and bra. I shared a room with one person, and showered alone in a door that didn't lock and had a peep hole. One time they sent me to shower to 7-5 year old ward and a a damn little kid walked in on me while i was in the shower. dunno my dad works at this mental hospital. THEY DONT SHOWER TOGETHER OR DO STRIP SEARCHES... In my experience of working at a mental hospital, we didn't do strip searches on any of our patients. The policy of Winnebago Mental Health Institute may be different. Presumably, admitting staff would do what they felt was necessary to ensure safety to the patient, the other patients on the unit, and to the staff. When I have worked, this has never involved strip searches. I bet they do, they probally have a "same sex "aid do the search of coarse. Seems like it would be a mandatory requirement for everyones saftey. I know I had it done to me in there once, and it was most unpleasant. some mental hospitals do whats called a "jhonny search" in which you take off your clothes behind a jhonny or privacy screen put the jhonny on so they can search the clothes that you came in with. they do this becuase of safety purposes. they do it to me wherever i go because of my history of smuggling razor blades in concealed in my underwear. |

Hi, how much physical contact do you get, apart from being restrained? I've spent a decade in mental health services and practically the only 'touch' I got from anyone was when so... Real life IS an uphill battle. That's why you appreciate it more when you do find happiness. I don't want to sound as though I think your ? is trifling, or I'm dismissing your fear... I thought I would post a message, not because I do the same, but because I am on the receiving end of something identical. It is often very hard for me to deal with, but I can appreciate that it is... Psychiatrists have a medical degree and prescribes medicine along with all forms of verbal therapy. Psychologists do NOT have medical degree therefore can't prescribe medicine but they can ta... ideally he is/should be treated by both. Yes the doc can diagnose him at his first eval. It (depression) isn't too difficult to diagnose. The first visit, most of the time you will be with you... You could be going through withdraw from meds. The antidepressants are known to poop out after awhile that is why doctors have to increase the dose . Or your having side effects from the meds. Eith... Boy can I sympathize! Please don't try to eat your way out of feeling bad. That can lead to an eating disorder. Maybe it would be easier to talk to someone that you don't know like... Well I don't really understand Scientology either. I do take medication for anxiety disorders. Tom Cruise does not have a physician's degree and should not be dispensing advise on these... |
