Can you help?

I'm on effexors i take 3 75mg a day. however i'm still an emotional wreck. i feel like the world is closing in. Sometimes it gets so bad i can't breath. I've got a mental health problem that i'm very aware of. I spent most of my teen years in a crazy house and i've been on meds forever for depression but i'm still depressed and feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulder.

does anyone have any ideas on some meds i can take or even something i can do to help. It's getting bad again and i don't know how to stop it.

You could be going through withdraw from meds. The antidepressants are known to poop out after awhile that is why doctors have to increase the dose . Or your having side effects from the meds. Either way you should seek help, I found help at www.paxilprogess.org . It's a site that has helped alot of people who have had terrible side effects from these meds. Not just people with paxil , but also prozace , lexapro etc. Maybe someone there can help it's www.paxilprogress.org good luck and i hope things improve for you.

Get help now! There are lots of options and lots of help available. Talk your doc/psch til you get something that works. No-one has to live like that

Maybe it is the medication you are on currently. You should talk to your doctor about your feelings and ask if he could possibly ween you off that medication and put you on another one. Sometimes if you are pulled off of a medication in a hurry it can cause severe depression and thoughts of suicide.

Talk to your MD.
They may be able to help.
Sounds like your still young, so don't give up on yourself.

Are you always alone and bored? I think a healthier lifestyle can do a lot of help, get pre-occupied instead, its not only the people who have mental problems that have this depression attacks, healthy people do too, if they get bummed out, because its only then that they would think of a lot of things and all those negative feelings sink in. Try some entertaining comic books like Archies, then divulge yourself in sports and have a good company of happy friends. Try to think of lighter things instead. About these medicines it only usually put you to sleep, try being out instead and have fun. Try wall climbing, boating, go-carts. Life is beautiful, you just need to explore. Regards.

You may have panic disorder. Please go to the doctor and have him/her take you off that medication and put you on another one, and possibly into some therapy.

It sounds like those meds are not the right ones for you.

Don't be ashamed, please just go to your doctor they can help you.

Hi. I think you may have meant to write that you take Effexor 3.75 That is a very low dosage and a starting dosage. It is not usually adequate to treat depression. Switch to a different antidepressant or try to up your Effexor dosage. Also, if your dr is saying this should be a good dosage for you, get a new one.
