Can anyone help me write my council house application?

i must be honest i am not very good at writing letters or application forms.
i know many of you will give web addresses.
here are the reasons i needc to leave
i have serious emotional/mental problems severe depression, thought about suicide,
and need to become independent of my family
my mother has many problems and screams an shouts all morning noon and night.when at home me and my two rarely leave our bedrooms because of the stress in the house
i have also had other health problems since my teens atherits , joint prioblems

You could get your parent to write the letter, that's what i did many years ago because the council would not rehouse me after waiting many months I tired of seeing immigrants getting houses and I didn't I therefore ask my Mother to write a letter saying she was throwing me out, I was rehoused within a month, sad what you have to do isn't it? You could also ask your GP to write a letter of support. The council will also be able to help you complete it if you make an appointment.

Doctor's letter would be useful in support of your application

Good Luck

Start off with....i would like to be considered for housing because my current housing situation is not ideal. I am very unhappy living with my parent(s) because of my mum's etc etc etc

Then explain why you need to move...use the parent relationship would greatly improve because of not living together BUT do make sure you are not just coming over like a teenager not getting on with mum (because how many do??)

If mum could supply a letter confirming this also it would help. A GP letter would also be good but a family friend or another relative is just as evidential

Please go to see your GP who can arrange housing for you in the proper environment for you. You need help ask to see a councillor , that's what they are there for and will understand when you explain to them. Good luck.

I could help you out. I've done the same for a lot of people. Contact me.

At some local community centres they have an advorsary office, these people are very helpful.

What they do is have a number of volunteers all who have different skills in all types of life. A person is allocated to you who they feel is of most use to you and they are with you for as long as you need them.

They are your voice for when you are unable to speak up for yourself and your rights, they can help you with forms and letters, they can help with all sorts

Give it a try, if you cannot find them ask you local CAB or council

if you still need help contact me and i,ll help you fill out your application form and help to write a letter to send off with the form. I'm off to bed in a min but any time tomorrow would be good, and look don't worry about it, it only seems hard when its your first time and you dont know what to do. get a good nights sleep, and dont worry it will be ok. you deserve housing as much as the next person does. x

Hi there

Please see if you can find a local mental health charity in your area, many have specific housing related services that can help you to fill in all the forms and deal with the council with you.

I work for a local Mind association:
http://www.mind.org.uk/Mind+in+your+area...

We have a drop-in centre, a young persons service and also a housing service.

The drop-in centre would be a good place for you to get support with your depression, and give you a safe place to be that is away from home. Everyone there will be friendly and understand what you are going through.

A housing service like ours, will be able to help you apply for medical priority status with the council, which, if you get it, will help you to move more quickly than if you are just on the general waiting list.

We have good links with the council and they refer people to us who they think would benefit from the kind of support we can offer. So it may be worthwhile ringing your local housing office and asking if they know of anywhere that could help you.

If there isn't a specific mental health charity then go and see your local Citizens Advice Bureau. They will have someone who can help you fill in the forms and advise you on the best way to do it.

Find your local CAB:
http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/g...

As others have said, talking to you GP and getting him/her to either write a letter, or asking if you can put them down as someone to contact for further details is another way of backing up your reasons for needing to move.

It does help a great deal if you have someone who is known in a professional capacity helping you, unfortunately sometimes people who go it alone don't always get what they are entitled to. Certainly CAB or a mental health housing project will know exactly what you can and should get and they will help you to ensure you get it.

There is help and support available if you know where to look for it.

I've also listed a few links to the Mind website that you may want to look at, they aren't housing related though, but may be useful:

Understanding Depression
http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/Bookl...

How to cope with suicidal feelings
http://www.mind.org.uk/Information/Bookl...

The Mind website offers a very wide range of easy to read and understand information, when you have time, look around as you may finds lots more that will be of use to you.

Take care and good luck.
