Is it normal for a TEEN to be worried about their health and dying??????

Is it normal for a TEEN to be worried about their health and dying??????

Depends on just how worried you are. If this is an ongoing fear that's disrupting your life you should seek medical advise from a mental health care professional. Otherwise I'd suggest that this is a normal concern for someone your age. You'll get over it.

Of course you have to be worried about your health and dying. I think everyone does. It's very normal as long as it doesn't get you in a depression. Try to stay healthy by eating right and exercising and you don't have to worry about your health.

Think in solutions instead of what-ifs. Fear is powerful and knows no bounds. Fear can turn into anything, even the sickness that you are afraid of.

You can be healthy by doing the right things, but you cant worry about getting things you have no power over.
It is normal to have those thoughts, but not to be obsessed by them.
The torture of something is in anticipating it, not actually when you are going through it.

I am not sure about normal, but it is fairly common, but not really good. Teens are supposed to think they are immortal and indestructible, and thus do the sorts of foolish things that make life memorable.

In this day and age, mortality seems to weigh more heavily on many peoples' minds. Wars and rumors of wars, violence in the streets, overcrowded prisons, overcrowded cities all work to make life seem a little more fragile.

That is why you must strive to make the most out of each and every day and not let fears about tomorrow slow you down. Live as if every day is your last and when the time comes, you can say, I have lived.

Without knowing the person we are talking about its hard to say.
Was there a friend or relative recently diagnosed with a disease or pass away then I would say yes.
But without some outside influence I would say no.
Just talk to them about it maybe you can find out why they are worried about it. If they don't want to talk to you about it maybe someone else like a school counselor or priest.

i think it depends what situation they are in, if they have health problems

i myself have leukemia, and there have been points in my life where i have felt unbelievably helpless.. sometimes i feel like going through all the painful treatments aren't worth it, because i'm only 16 and the stupid cancer hasn't gone away for good...it's been off and on, it's off right now, but who knows if it's going to come back? it has before. i think a lot of people with such horrible diseases wonder how long they'll last. i have.

but "regular" kids i don't think ususally do, i talk about this kinda stuff with close friends, and they told me that ususally they don't think about it, and even though they are aware there are such horrible diseases and things out there, they just forget about the bad things and make the best of everything. that's what i've been doing lately, i try to forget about all the nasty stuff in life and just live it the fullest i can. they say the only cure for cancer is hope, so that's what i'll have. hope.

Usually teens think they are invincible. (Of course, they aren't but that kind of thinking leads to unnecessary risk taking!)

It is good to be concerned about your health....but not WORRIED about it. You should have a check up, eat right, excercise, make sure to wear seatbelt, keep safe, etc. However, if you are still worried, you might have a problem with anxiety that needs to be taken care of by a visit to the psychiatrist. Also, maybe talk to your pastor or something about death and dying issues.
