It affects the heart, lungs and slows you down. CAn cause heart attacks, shortness of breath most of all it can cause, mouth,throat,and lung cancer.It is also expensive.

in public health there is what is called association and causation. association means that a substance or action, indirectly can lead to a higher potential of a disease or injury. causation means that something causes something else with no other variables involved. when it come to smoking there is the association factor which causes illness because you can be a non-smoker and get lung cancer, a smoker for 20 years and not get lung cancer, and a smoker for 1 year and get lung cancer. smoking is associated with lung and heart ailments, bronchitis, heart disease, possible cancer based on heredity and genetic make-up. it is not a very healthy habit to take-up whatsoever.

But health-wise, smoking sets them up for cancer, bronchitis, and emphysema later in life. Also, teens that start smoking NOW are less likely to be able to quit if they ever decide to try. 30 - 40 years ago, cigarettes were mostly tobacco and nicotine. Nowadays there are additives such as bleach, chlorine, and arsenic [which is a poison] as well as the nicotine and tobacco. Would YOU want to inhale a poison deliberately? Would anyone?
