1 in 4 teen girls has an STD...who wants to 'fess up here?

Ok, this is serious...that's a disturbing statistic.

Are you a "ONE IN FOUR" with a Sexual Transmitted Disease?

If so, tell us about it and how it's affected your life.

THE FACTS:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/condition...

@ kitty m
Youre correct, the fact is (according to the article) there ARE over 3 million girls in America with STD.

What worries me is, if no one admits it here (anonymously) that they have an infection, they are certainly NOT going to tell the person they are or will be dating...
and after all, isn't this how it spreads?

Here's CDC info on STD:
http://www.cdc.gov/STD/

if you look at the souce of that survey it was only taken by 840 people!!! that isnt every acurate for ALL of America. That would mean about 3 million girls in America would have STD's. I think this survey was taken in an impoverished area. Maybe the ghetto's in larger cities. I am not saying only poor people get STD's but they are more likely to be less likely to educated about it!!! The meaning of the survey was more to get people MOSTLY TEENAGE GIRLS to see the statistics to scare them away from STD's because it is an uprising problem.

I am not a teen, nor do I have an STD, but I thought your question wording was interesting AND amusing, and now I must see what conspires from it...

Not me. And I'm seriously glad!

i'm not, because i'm not a girl, but this isn't surprising at all in our society, and another statistic in that study is that 40% of all sexually active teens have STDs. i would guess that majority of them have Herpes Type 1, which can spread through kissing even.

The study is fine, 800+ people is a large enough sample, and if they invested that much money/time into it, they wouldn't just pick a biased sampling, it would probably be quite representative of the entire US.

1 in 4 sexually active teen girls? Or just any teen girl sexually activity or not..

So what does that make the teen male statistics?
Guess it all depends who got it from who..
