I'm in good health, but always tired. why?

i go through periods where i am very tired and can not focus on my schoolwork and other commitments. usually they last a week or a little less, and while they seem to correspond to times when i am under great pressure, there are other times when i seem to be under more pressure and yet i do not feel tired then. these periods of exhaustion are accompanied by irritability, headaches, stomaches, etc. i'm still in school, but i'm a girl and in my late teens so its not anything like growth spurts. at school i am on the track team, so i get lots of exercise, and i am also in three clubs and challenging academic courses, both of which take up a large amount of my time. still, i eat a very healthy, regular (4 to 5 small/medium meals a day) diet and always get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep--sometimes more on the weekends. i make a habit of eating and going to bed/getting up at the same time. i am not anemic, and have no health issues. is this something psycological or could this be an illness?

Sounds like a mild case of depression. Based on what you said, it appears you are eating well and getting plenty of exercise with no weight loss, so it doesn't appear to be a major episode. Also, it sounds like you have too much on your plate and not enough time for you. Placing pressure on yourself will certainly cause depression, particularly if you don't live up to your own standards. Perhaps its time you take a little vacation in day to day activities and look at your priorities. Cut back on some things until you start feeling better and look at those activities that you can live without. If that doesn't work, you definitely don't want it to go on since depression does get worse and you should see a counselor to help you through issues that may be bothering you.

How is your family life? Are there issues there that you haven't mentioned? Do you have boy friend problems? Any loss in the family due to death, divorce, etc.? How are you sleeping? Just some things to ask yourself to see what may be ailing you.

Hang in there!!!!

If you take in a lot of sugar it depletes your B-vitamins which can cause fatigue. You're probably just bored though.

u need more vitamin c in ur diet

It could be any number of things. You should probably have a heart scan done if you can afford it or your insurance will cover it, just so you can be sure that there's nothing wrong there.
