Carrier rate in the general population: 1 in 250-300

Other ethnic groups in which it occurs:
Celtic (Irish), French & French Canadian, Cajun, and Pennsylvania Dutch

Age of onset of symptoms:
3 - 6 months of age


Tay-Sachs (late onset)
