My new tattoos sting like crazy!? |
I got 2 tattoos done literally last night right below my wrists. I know tattoos are wounds, so they're gonna hurt for the first few days, but I was wondering if there was any way to relieve a little bit of the sting. I'm currently using Curel (sp?) as directed by the artist, and it's actually what I think is causing the stinging/burning sensation. Any tips? Probably the only thing to get that will help is Solarcaine or something that will numb the pain. Be sure and keep the area clean (VERY CLEAN) with antibacterial soap. We just had a young lady (18-years-old) in the ER last week who died from an infection from having her nipples pierced. She developed a horrible infection and by the time her mother got her to the hospital it was too late. LOL Glad I made my point. Hope you feel better soon!!!! Report It Tequilla for tatoo pain. Neosporin sooths the pain and helps it heal quicker no just keep it moisturized dont pick it, go swimming til its healed, no sun tanning til it s healed and dont scratch it,. keep it clean and the pain wil go away ice in a plastic bag & hold on area - in a few moments pain will be relieved - hold on area for 20 min. you can use once pe hour. Also 2 to 3 Alieve will work. You might be allergic to something in the Curel. Try using cocoa butter instead. You can find it in a little round tub in the lotion section at Wal*Mart or a similar store. I've used it on all of my tattoos because it helps them heal nicely and keeps them moisturized. You COULD take some sort of topical anesthetic like solarcaine or something containing lidocaine, but I'd ask your artist first. I've repeatedly been told to not put anything on new tats (except for odorless/colorless lotion) so you don't fade your color. A&D Ointment is the best for new tattoos---use that until it is completely healed, then switch to a good non-scented, sensitive skin moisturizer (Lubriderm, for example). |
