Why do tattoos last forever when we shed skin all the time? |
Ihave asked a couple of tattoo artists and beautician teachers and nobody can give me an answer to this one - I even tried doing a search but that didnt get me far - I know the newer inks last better than our grandfathers tatto inks that ended up looking like blue blobs but I am curious - I have a few tattoos and thought I might put this question out there... The ink is in the dermis far beneath the superficial cells shed regularly. It is a terrible thing to do to a pretty body. tattoo ink is under the skin, not on it. skin sheds and renews itself the tattoo ink is underneath the layers of skin that we shed. I think because the ink is transferred into the skin at a deeper level. They do fade. With time and age. |
