Giving Blood with tattoos?

I wanted to donate blood. I heard that you can't if you have recently gotten a tattoo. I have 4, and three I have gotten in 2007. My most recent one was in October. Does anyone know the rules on this?

Most blood donation centers will not accept your donation if you have gotten tattoos within the last 12 months because of the risk of spreading hepatitis.

Tattoo
Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis.

Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile technique. Only a few states currently regulate tattoo facilities, so most donors with tattoos must wait 12 months after tattoo application before donating blood. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.

You can't give blood for one year after your most recent tattoo or piercing.

u have to wait at least a year before donating blood if u just recently had a tattoo done

it totally depends on WHERE you are some states regulations are more stringent than others.i have donated within 2 days of a new tattoo.
