Tanning question...? |
i am white and light skined. i just went outside in my backyard for 45 minutes and just sat there. i come back into the house and look in the mirror and now i look pinkish. how should one like me with this skin type tan? should i do like 15 minutes everyday until i get tan or tan for 15 minutes every other day. i am tanning from the natural sun in my backyard. i am not using a tanning bed. i do apply sunscreen. i am like panicing now! it's not pink pink, but now my skin has some pink radiance like look to my skin, but i want to get tan. all tips and advice is appreciated thank you! I too am fair skinned and this is what i do when it's tanning season (I use indoor tanning though-but same concept). You have to first build a base tan if you don't then all you will do is burn and then peel and have no tan left. Tan outside with a medium level sunblock cause we with sensitive skin are easier to turn red and burn. Then only tan for 20 minutes every other day for a week. The next week move to 30 minutes and keep building slowly until you reach the desired color. Then all you have to do to maintain it is go like 2-3 times a week. Make sure you use an aloe vera lotion (called after sun care) to help with sunburn. Since you are pink now, do not tan until it goes away or you will just burn on top of burn. Have you ever been tan? Some people just can't get tan, it is either burn or white. If you never tan, it will be really tough to be naturally tan, heck probably impossible. If you have been tan I suggest this- always wear SPF and slowly build a tan. If you burn or turned pink then cut down on sun exposure. Noon until 3pm is the strongest sun so watch out then. It may take a long time. You might want to try self tanning lotions. Because you are not dark skinned get the lightest colored tan lotion, or else you wil look silly, follow directions and apply your regular body lotion all over 2 min after the fake stuff so you are not streaky. I use fake tan and no one believes it is not real- and because the sun is bad for your skin (cancer and wrinkles) the fake stuff is healthy. Plus it takes only minutes every other day after your regular shower (skin can soak up color better after a shower)- no wasting hours outside just sitting there, and no dangerous tanning booths. |
