Tachycardia possible for 16 year old? |
my resting pulse is always 115-120, and i can feel my heart beating/racing and its a scary feeling...so i did research and i think i might have tachycardia, is it possible for a 16 year old to have that? Yes it is possible for a 16yr old to have tachycardia. The heart is working "overtime" for one reason or another. it can be a very serious situation.. You need to sit down and talk with your mother and show her the research you did. If she still feels she has no time to take you.. I would suggest if you have a family doctor or a regular doctor you go to then contact them. and see if you cant find someone to take you. I am sorry you are having this problem I know it is scary but you will be fine and may come to find that it isn't the problem at all. I hope it is helpful for you. yes, it is possible for a 16 years old to have tachycardia, but it is no usually normal. There are many possible reasons for tachycardia. Some could be as simply as activity which can increase your heart rate. Some could be such as being overweight and out of condition, anxiety, anemia, heart deffects. If the resting heart rate is that high it needs to be evaluated by a doctor. An exam with an EKG should be done, and go from there. Conditions involving the heart are serious and should be taken seriously. Show this answer to your mom and ask to confirm even over the phone with a nurse or a doctor. Good luck! I find that my heart races when I'm really dehydrated. How much water do you drink per day? There are a lot of reasons why you are tachycardic. It is not normal to have that kind of heart rate for a sixteen year. Well, unless you have a heart condition that has not been diagnosed. |
