Tachycardia what can we expect?

my daughter 10 years old was diagnosed with tachycardia{rapid heart rate}what brings this on and can you prevent it from recurring?

You really cannot prevent it. I have it. I am medicated for it and try and avoid caffeine.

I was also diagnose with that but im 26 years old. I take a low dosage beta blocker it helps but im not for sure at that age she can take that. I asked my mom when i was younger did i have that problem she stated I did but nothing was giving to me.

She should be watched by a doctor who may prescribe medication or even perform surgery. She should avoid caffiene and other stimulants which can aggravate the conditions. The best advice I have is to find her a good cardiologist and follow his advice.

I was diagnosed with this and have been on Toprol Xl low dose since November. I also had an electrophsiology study and a radiofrequency ablation to redirect the electrical pathways of the heart. I was told to avoid stimulants, extreme exercise, and that's really about it. The ablation was supposed to have ended the problem but it still exists. Just monitor this very carefully because it can result in unexpected death but this rarely happens. Everytime I hear that commercial on TV about your heart beats an average of 1 billion beats in a lifetime, I'm always thinking okay my heart rate is generally 130 at resting so does this mean I'm going to die at a young age? You may want to look at the American Heart Associations website for support groups and etc.
