Can high blood pressure cause sinus tachycardia?

Can high blood pressure caused by stress result in a constant sinus tachycardia? Or is it the other way round?

In April I was diagnosed with Sinus Tachycardia with a very high blood pressure. I am on beta blockers now but it doesn't always work, my blood pressure can fluctuate but my heart rate can still race.

I also get anxiety alongside some Chronic Fatigue like symptoms (tingling, pins and needles, visual probs, muscle pain etc)

Also, can constant anxiety cause chronic sinus tachycardia?

(I've been tested blood wise and they only conclusion the doctor has is either chronic faituge syndrome or anxiety or both)

yes chronic fatigue, and anxiety can cause hypertension, and this can give rise to sinus tachycardia.

Talk to a specialist. It is impossible to diagnose without an examination of your medical history.

Yes - and corns

You should consider a health review by a medical professional that is a least open to alternative treatments. Beta blockers have their own side effects that can be unpleasant. Don't stop Beta blockers suddenly, ask your doctor if you can be weaned onto ACE inhibitors if you still need to be medicated. ACE inhibitors seem to have the least side effects of blood pressure meds. It is a cliche but you can do a lot with "lifestyle changes". Eat better, sleep better, drink only clean water and exercise more. Regular walks have helped me quite a bit.

Dr. Julian Whitaker, a Harvard trained MD has a website that may be of help: http://www.drwhitaker.com/ Check out his recommendations re. High blood pressure.

One supplement that may help is magnesium(Mg). Mg can be useful for high BP and heart arrhythmias. You may even start sleeping better. Most people are Mg deficient but you can get it at most health food stores. It is simply a mineral supplement and there are also high levels of it in almonds.

Mg should not interact with anything you are currently taking. Before you start, ask your Doc to be sure. Ask him how many almonds he prescribes to start! For more information also

Hope this helps.

Tachycardia causes high blood pressure, beta blockers are best for you, if still your blood pressure remains high, then your doc may prescribe you, Diuretics or Calcium channel blockers.
