On beta blockers for tachycardia, but still having panic attacks!? |
I was having tachycardia and Panic Disorder, so the cardiologist gave me the beta blocker atenolol in one of the lowest doses. Well, now it's working and my heart rate isn't going over 84, but I'm still getting panic attacks! Could it be because my body is getting too relaxed? I don't understand what's wrong with me! Have you had a thorough checkup? Maybe there is some other factor at play here. Other things can cause tachycardia and panic attacks which easily treatable with the proper medication. Atentolol is going to help lower your heart rate but not stop you from having panic attacts. I think you need to see a psychologist or psychotherapist to control your panic attacks. Do not stop the atentolol but its not going to work alone. Good luck. it will take some time for you to get adjusted to the medicine this medicine works the best if you do not stress youself and i would advice you to slower the pace of your life |
