Supra ventricular Tachycardia?

I was rushed to the ER in 2004 with a heartbeat of over 200 beats per minute. They had to give me 3 shots of something in my IV to slow down my heart rate and had the "crash cart" ready. My question is: due to this, I was diagnosed with Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. I was told that I had a heart attack, but if they called it SVT, was it really a heart attack? I'm not sure and was hoping someone might know. I was only 24 when it happened.

I hope these links help you with your question.

No, you didn't have a heart attack.

No you didn't have a heart attack,

Supra ventricular tachycardia or SVT is when your heart beats faster than 160 beats per min. this can be brought on by numerous thing. electrolyte embalance is a common cause. a lot of people were experiencing SVT when they were trying the atkins diet. which cuts out all the carbs in a diet. which is a source of energy for the body. when you cut out the carbs, your body burns up your stored carbs which is how you lose weight. but if you do it for too long your body breaks down lipids, which is a nasty type of fat in which your body gets energy.

to make a long story short...you need certain electrolytes in your body to keep all the action potentials normal. no you didn't have a heart attack, but you could have if you didn't get treated.
