Question about Tachycardia, PLEASE HELP!?

I am currently in the process of joining the military. When I was at MEPS, I failed the heart rate test, my heart rate was too high because I was nervous and had not eaten in 2 days. I passed EVERYTHING else but at the end of the day they didnt let me swear in because they said I was technically disqualified. They wrote down that I had tachycardia, my recruiter (and even some of the doctros) old me that it was no the first time this had happened and they seemed pretty dissapointed because I am a healthy young man. They did say however that I was probably just nervous so they gave me a waiver, but told me to go to my doctor and get my heart rate/blood pressure taken 3 different days. Heres me problem, I dont have any health insurance. Ive been calling health clinics tellin them that all I need is for them to take my blood pressure and heart rate, they tell me to go see a cardiologist (which I cant afford)
Where can I go get this exam done? Anyone know? Please I really want to enlist!

Go to your regular docs office and the nurse will check your blood pressure and pulse and they probably won't charge for this service as they don't at my clinic. YOu don't need an appointment you just tell the receptionist why you are there and they will have a nurse check you when they get a free minute.

well i guess your choices are die of tachycardia or die in the war...

Just show up at a clinic, and tell them that all you need is a doctor or nurse to document your BP and heart rate. Don;t even bother calling them. And make sure you dont drink any coffee or sports drinks before you go in, but do eat first! Good luck!

you need to really follow up on that before you join the military. If they told you that you were probably nervous, there will be a whole lot of that in the military. For example, when I was in bootcamp and it was time for us to get shots, people were passing out. I don't know if it was because we were given 6 shots overall. Oh another thing, before you deploy, you usually have to try on your gas mask and have it on for quite some time. I didn't have any problem with my breathing or anything but once I wore that mask I wanted out bad! It seems like I couldn't get enough air. Anyway, please do know what you're getting yourself into.
